Lists Of "Bests"How to Keep Blooms OpenEarliestFor Tubs and Miniature Ponds>Best SixProbably the most thumbed page of our catalog every year, judging by the orders we receive, is that page devoted to a selection of six good water-lilies with which new gardeners can begin. We select with an eye to variety of color, flower form, and blooming habit. And, of course, we include only those water-lilies which we are sure will grow for amateurs. "BEST DOZEN" For a somewhat larger pool, which will take twelve water-lilies, add these to the above six: Nymphaea alba candidissima, N. tuberosa Richardsonii, W. B. Shaw, N. Gladstoniana, William Falconer, and Mrs. Richmond. BEST EIGHTEEN For the pool which will accommodate eighteen water-lilies, add these six, and then you will have a veritable social register of the finest, most beautiful hardies in cultivation: Nymphaea lucida, N. odorata rosea, Dawn, N. fulva, William Doogue, and Rose Arey. |
